Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has held talks with Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez on the phone regarding a move to Old Trafford this summer, Metro quotes Chile’s El Show de Prensafutbol as reporting.

The two-time Copa America winner faces an uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium as he rapidly approaches the final 12 months of his contract, whilst no progress has been made regarding an extension for the former Barcelona man.

As such, reports since January have consistently suggested that Alexis will move away from Arsenal this summer but the Gunners are determined not to sell to a Premier League rival- having seen the likes of R0bin Van Persie and Samir Nasri leave the Emirates for rival sides in recent years.

However, it appears that Mourinho is keen for Alexis to follow in the footsteps of former Arsenal skipper Van Persie, who won the Premier League with Manchester United, but Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also reported to have made contact.

Chelsea are also keen on the 28-year-old, whilst there’s also a host of interest from the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain on the continent.
