Mesut Ozil is reportedly one of five players on Barcelona’s January transfer wish-list.

The Gunners star who is out of contract with the club at the end of the season has been linked with several moves away.

Ozil can leave Arsenal on a free next summer should he fail to sign a new deal and can begin pre-contractual negotiations at the turn of the year.

Manchester United have been tipped to sign the Germany international, but it appears La Liga leaders Barcelona have stepped up their rumoured interest.

The Catalan side reportedly rate him as their top transfer target and are prepared to pay to stop him joining another club on a free next summer.

Ozil has hit good form for Arsenal in recent weeks which has seen his tally for the season rise to four goals and five assists.

Arsene Wenger has waved away suggestions the German will be sold, but he could be tempted to part with the playmaker should a substantial offer come in.
