Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is expected to escape retrospective action after pulling Matteo Guendouzi’s hair drawing the 2-2 draw last night.

Despite being pegged back twice by Jose Mourinho’s side, the Gunners have extended their unbeaten run to 20 matches.

During the second-half Fellaini’s hair pull was caught by the television cameras.

There have been suggestions that Fellaini might face a ban, but the French teenager has played down the incident.

‘I think there is a bit of jealousy there,’ Guendouzi told RMC Sports in the mixed zone after the game (via Metro Sport).

‘Maybe he can’t accept the fact that he chose to go back to short hair!’

Referee Andre Mariner did see the contest for the ball, but chose to penalise Fellaini without a booking.

There is a precedent for retrospective action, but the 31 year-old is expected to escape a sanction.

Fellaini famous afro is no more, but the Belgian’s mean streak remains.
