Arsenal could allow Mesut Ozil to join Fenerbahce in January.

A Report from Turkey via Sports Witness claims the Turkish outfit are in the closing stages of finalizing a move for the German.

Ozil has had a difficult start to the new season. From falling victim of a knife attack in August, to being ignored by Unai Emery and now failing to impress on the pitch.

The 31 year-old has claimed just one assist in eight matches so far and most fans believe that he is passed his best.

The claims from Turkey say Fenerbahce have been in talks with the midfielder and Arsenal for a long time now and they are very close to completing the move.

It is unclear whether imminent new boss Mikel Arteta will be content with Ozil’s departure. Arsenal director Stan Kroenke met with Arteta in the last 24 hours and signed off a deal that will see the former Gunners captain return to the club he left in 2016 after five years in north London.
