Mesut Ozil says he plans to see out the rest of his contract at Arsenal.

The German is starting to show consistently good form since Mikel Arteta’s arrival and believes he is passed the “hard time” he endured under Unai Emery.

Ozil saw his match time drastically cut under the former Arsenal manager who he was rumoured to have a falling out with.

His £350,000-a-week contract still has 18 months to run.

It is not yet known whether the 31 year-old will seek to resign, but he is adamant he will remain with the Gunners for the time being.

He said: “I am very pleased with my contract that will continue here this year and the year after.

Mesut Ozil says intends to see out the rest of his contract.

“I can’t tell you what the future will bring, I’m excited about the future, but I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Asked about the differences a regime change has brought about, Ozil did not hesitate in stating the positive change in mood now that Emery has been moved on.

‘It is basically getting us back to the old Arsenal virtues,’ he said, according to the Sun.

‘Fighting and having possession, being in control of the game, having the ball all the time.

‘These are the things that he is working on with us and you can see it — everyone is smiling, laughing, enjoying their time — it has made us successful.

‘I think he is the right man at this club.’

Gooners, would you like to see Mesut resign? Let us know in the comments…
