Mesut Ozil can’t get near the Arsenal team
The German has played just 142 minutes of football all season and has recently been left out of Unai Emery’s entire match day squads.
The retired Germany international featured in Arsenal’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Reading over the international break, leading to suggestions he could be named in the squad to face Sheffield United on Monday.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a January move to AC Milan. The only stumbling block are his eye-watering £350,000-a-week wages.
However, his involvement in the game against Reading, which ended in a 2-2 draw, could be a hint that Emery is planning to recall the player for the game at Bramall Lane next week.
