Mesut Ozil will reportedly leave Arsenal when his contract expires at the end of next season.

The German who signed a new £350,000-a-week deal back in February 2018 has been denied a contract extension amid the current financial crisis brought on by coronavirus.

ESPN say that the 2014 World Cup winner was told last summer he could leave the club due to a falling out with ex-boss Unai Emery.

Mesut Ozil expected to leave Arsenal

Ozil was left out of Emery’s team for several months before finally returning to the team regularly in November.

But the German, 31, has somewhat rediscovered his form under Mikel Arteta and started all 10 Premier League games the Spaniard was in charge.

The renewed faith has not led to renewed faith from the board off the pitch and Ozil is expected to leave the Emirates in June 2021.

Right decision, Gooners? Let us know in the comments…
