Laurent Koscielny is desperate to leave Arsenal.

So much so that the Gunners captain refused to travel with the rest of the squad for the pre-season tour of the United States.

And now The Mirror say Koscielny is taking legal advice after claiming his wages will be cut in HALF in his bitter contract row with Arsenal.

He still has 12 months to run on his current £90,000-a-week deal and had hoped to extend his stay at the club he joined from Lorient back in 2010.

Laurent Koscielny has been a mainstay in the Arsenal team since 2010

Talks over a new deal had been held with the club before the end of the season but quickly broke down over personal terms.

And the Frenchman, who made just 10 Premier League appearances in 2018/19, was stunned when he was told Arsenal were only prepared to pay him £45,000-a-week over the following two years with the chance to top up his salary based on appearances.

Arsenal were willing to give Koscielny an extra year with a guaranteed free transfer next summer if he decided to leave and they insist if he remains a regular then he could end up earning more.

However, the injury prone centre-half sees the wage reduction as a massive slap in the face.
