Michael Owen has predicted both Arsenal v Napoli and Slavia Prague v Chelsea ahead of the Europa League action on Thursday night.
Arsenal have a tough test to reach the semi-finals of the competition. Napoli are currently sitting pretty in second in Serie A under former Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The Gunners suffered their first defeat in six over the weekend, losing 1-0 at Everton. It’s put them on the back-foot ahead of tomorrow’s tie and Owen doesn’t see Unai Emery’s side returning to winning ways against Napoli.
He wrote in his Metro Sport column: ‘This is the third game between the teams in European competition with the home side winning the two previous encounters in the group stages of the Champions League back in the 2013-14 season.
‘Napoli have never won in England in European competition in eight previous visits, but I expect the Serie A side to score at the Emirates in what promises to be an entertaining tie.
‘The Gunners have won their last three home games in all competitions without conceding a goal, but I think it will be honours even and all to play for back in Naples next week.’
Michael’s prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Napoli
The former Liverpool striker also sees Chelsea heading back to Stamford Bridge with a 1-1 draw against Slavia Prague.
