Midfielder wants Arsenal move this summer

According to reports, Arsenal are interested in signing Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford this summer.

The highly-rated Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has claimed Premier League big boys are chasing him. The host of clubs also includes Tottenham and Liverpool.

Doucoure has been a sensational hit for the Hornets this season having scored seven league goals and establishing himself as a midfield enforcer.

Amid the interest, the 25 year-old has revealed his admiration for Arsenal.

As reported by the Mirror, Doucoure said: “It’s true that these clubs are interested. But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”

Asked which of the clubs he would prefer to join, he added: “Arsenal because of Arsène Wenger.”

Doucoure’s arrival could spell the end for either Jack Wilshere or Aaron Ramsey. Wilshere has just four months to run on his current deal and appears no closer to extending, while Ramsey’s contract expires next summer – Liverpool are reportedly keen on the Welshman.
