Mkhitaryan has proclaimed Mesut Ozil as the ‘assist King’ and has revealed he cannot wait to play alongside the German.

The Armenia international completed his move to Arsenal on Monday as part of a straight swap for Alexis Sanchez.

Mkhitaryan announced himself on the world stage during his stint at Borussia Dortmund in which he was crowned Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2015/16.

However, he failed to rediscover his form at Old Trafford and was quickly set aside by Jose Mourinho.

The 29 year-old is now relishing the opportunity to play for Arsenal and has revealed his admiration for Ozil.

‘Here at Arsenal I know that lots of players move a lot and it’s incredible the way [the team] plays. I will do my best to assist them as well,” he told Arsenal Player.

Ozil has 48 Premier League assists since arriving in 2013.

‘I think it will be really fun to play alongside Ozil. Everyone knows he’s a fantastic player, he’s an assist king! I look forward to it.

‘[I admire] his intelligence, the way that he can understand the game, reads the game, plus the way he gives pace to the game and of course his final decision.’

Ozil may not be playing alongside the Armenian for long. The Gunners ace has less than six months to run on his current contract and will leave for free should he fail to sign a new deal.

Both Ozil and Mkhitaryan could be joined by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Gunners frontline. The Dortmund striker is closing in on a move to the Emirates.
