New Monaco manager Thierry Henry has approached Arsenal over a potential loan move for youngster Emile Smith Rowe.

The teenager has impressed in Europa League competition, but is unlikely to be offered much game time in the Premier League.

Henry has arrived at Monaco and the Arsenal legend has used his close connections with the club to good effect. Sources at the club have told Caught Offside that Henry has instantly got in touch about signing Smith Rowe.

A number of British players have been using European clubs as an opportunity to elevate their careers. Reiss Nelson is currently on loan and impressing at Hoffenheim. Meanwhile, former Manchester City forward Jadon Sancho earned a call up to the England senior side after a fast start to his career at Borussia Dortmund.

Whether Henry is set to recruit Smith Rowe in January remains at speculation. However, Gooners will no doubt be keeping an eye on the club record goalscorer’s progress at Monaco.
