Arsenal legends Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira go head to head as managers for the first time tonight.

Vieira became Nice manager last June, while Monaco hired Henry in October.

However, it’s been Arsenal’s record goal scorer whose struggled of the two – Monaco were in the bottom three when Henry took over and the Principality are still four points from safety.

The Gunners legends won the 1998 World Cup together for France, Henry and Vieira then went on to secure five major trophies in the same team at Arsenal. This included being integral members of the 2003/04 ‘Invincible’ side which survived a whole Premier League season without losing a game.

Vieira, whose side sit 8th, has captured the sentiment around the occasion. “We’re both really excited about it,” he said on Tuesday.

Cesc Fàbregas made an impressive debut in Sunday’s encouraging draw with Marseille, recovering from a slow start to pull the strings. The former Gunner joined his ex-teammate Henry this month from Chelsea.
