Arsenal’s Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat is set to leave the club next month after a reported rift over the direction of the club.

Mislintat was signed from Borussia Dortmund nearly 14 months ago after helping the German outfit sign hidden gems and turn them into world beaters.

Now, BBC Sport correspondent David Ornstein has claimed that Monchi is among the names to become the club’s new technical director.

Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, commonly known as Monchi, is the current director of football at Roma.

Hailed for his success in the transfer market during his time with Sevilla, the former player signed a four-year deal with Roma to take up a similar role in April 2017.

Monchi is linked with the vacant Head of Recruitment position

Arsenal are also considering promoting Francis Cagigao. The Englishman is the club’s current Head of International Recruitment and is among the internal candidates touted for the role.

The 49-year-old has been working for the club for the past 20 years, having helped bring the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin to north London.

Ajax technical director Marc Overmars is thought to be a front-runner for the sporting director position, with another former Gunner, Edu, having distanced himself from the role.
