According to reports Jose Mourinho is interested in signing Mesut Ozil next summer.
The Arsenal midfielder has entered the final year of his contract and can walk for free at the end of the season.
Ozil, 28 has not held contract negotiations with the Gunners since March and is permitted to open pre-contract talks with other clubs from January.
Manchester United boss, Mourinho has been a long time admirer of the German who he has already managed whilst at Real Madrid.
Ozil had great success under Mourinho, but the playmaker could still sign a new deal for Arsene Wenger’s side before the season’s out.
If Manchester United do land Germany’s five time Player of the Year, the wizard could make a formidable trio alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic. Unfortunately, the Gunners have allowed the No 10 to run his contract down and the decision could seriously cost Arsenal in the long run.
