According to reports in Spain, Manchester United are set to test Arsenal’s nerve with a January transfer bid for Mesut Ozil.
Initially, the Red Devils are said to have planned a move for the World Cup winner in the summer, but Mourinho is now hoping to lure Ozil from the Emirates, to which Don Balon claim for a fee between £17m and £22m in January.
Ozil has been in fine form for Arsenal of late having endured a difficult start to the season.
The Germany international, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates is not expected to sign a new deal with the club.
His current situation is the perfect opportunity for Manchester United to test Arsenal’s reluctance to cash in on the playmaker.
With both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata struggling at Old Trafford, Ozil could be the perfect fit for the No 10 position with United chasing City at the top.
