Thursday saw Sunderland officially confirm that 16-year-old Sam Greenwood has joined Arsenal.

The north Londoners shrugged off The Black Cats proposed scholarship offer made to take the striker to the Emirates.

Striker, 16, has been called up by England at U16 level and scored six goals and made as many assists for Sunderland’s U18s last term.

Greenwood is naturally a center forward but he can play as a winger and also as a secondary striker if needed.

Last season, the teenage starlet started 13 games in the Under-18 Premier League for Sunderland and directly contributed in 12 goals (6 goals and 6 assists).

The youngster also confirmed his move to the Emirates via his Instagram account.
