Arsenal’s latest rising star Ainsley Maitland-Niles has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term deal, the club announced.
The Englishman made his Arsenal debut in 2014 aged 17, and appeared 28 times for Arsene Wenger’s side.
And the 20 year-old has already impressed new boss Unai Emery. Chief executive Ivan Gazidis revealed that the Spaniard had presented a detailed dossier mapping Maitland-Niles’ development when he was interviewing for the role.
An England youth international, the youngster has captained his country at under-20 level and was a key figure in their under-20 World Cup triumph in June 2017, the first time the Young Lions have ever lifted the trophy.
Maitland-Niles will wear the No 15 shirt next season.
The club will also be keen to tie deals for fellow Brits Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey by the end of the window.
Gooners, should Maitland-Niles be a starter? Let us know in the comments…
