Arsenal suffered another defeat in the Premier League, losing 3-1 to Manchester City on Sunday.
The fallout has been overshadowed by Arsene Wenger’s criticism of the standard of refereeing. In truth, the disapproval has only papered over the cracks of Arsenal’s poor performance.
Arsenal were lucky not to be shown up by the Citizens on the scoresheet, but they were truly outclassed on the pitch.
One man, who for once appears to have escaped criticism from the media is Mesut Ozil.Like the rest of the Arsenal team, the German had a dismal afternoon at the Eithad.
Ozil, who is out of contract with the club at the end of the season appears reluctant to sign a new deal. The midfielder has been linked with a switch to Manchester United, but even Jose Mourinho would have been put off by Sunday’s display.
If Man Utd are still yet to withdraw their interest, many Arsenal fans have.
Take a look at what they’ve had to say on Twitter…
Signing Ozil was fun, huge moment, made us believe we could compete, won us trophies, but I’ve no interest in watching him play for us again.

Said it before, but if you broke into Ozil's house, told him it was yours & he had to live on the streets, he'd just shrug & walk out.

Mesut Ozil appears once every 15 games, he's literally a finished player. At this point he's not even good enough for West Ham.

Kevin De Bruyne delivering another MOTM performance. Ozil’s best contribution has been kicking the ball away and a yellow card.

I was Ozil's biggest fan, but we should sell him. He's not interested any more. #afc
