Steven N’zonzi would prefer a move to Arsenal, despite Roma appearing to show more interest.

It’s unclear whether the Gunners are still pursuing the Frenchman who lifted the World Cup with France this summer.

Interest from Unai Emery’s side appears to have gone quiet with less than a week to go until the season’s curtain raiser.

Arsenal appear farily settled for the new season in midfield, and changes are more likely to come in defence, if they come at all.

N’Zonzi has the advantage of England’s early deadline to help him though. He can wait until Friday for a move from Arsenal, and if one doesn’t come he still has another few weeks to complete his transfer to Roma.

The Gunners meet Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday. A win for Emery’s men against the league champions will be a huge confidence boost for the season to come.
