Olivier Giroud has joined Chelsea for £18 million.

The France international leaves Arsenal after final-and-a-half years at the club.

Giroud arrived at the Emirates in 2012 having lifted the Ligue 1 trophy with Montpellier, the 6 ft 4″ target man went on to score 105 goals in 253 games for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Giroud’s move to Stamford Bridge saw Chelsea sanction Michy Batshuayi’s proposed loan move to Borussia Dortmund.

The German club were in need of a new front man after selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal.

Aubameyang arrives as Arsenal’s new number 7 and could be thrust into the side to play Everton on Saturday.

As for Giroud, the Frenchman was in attendance to watch Chelsea’s shock defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Antonio Conte has been scowling the market for a physical presence up front. And the Blues have snapped up Giroud after failing to prize Edin Dzeko away from Roma.
