Mesut Ozil claims he has become a better player at Arsenal amid suggestions he will sign a new deal.

The Gunners playmaker has been in impressive form this season, netting four and providing five assists for his teammates.

Ozil has just six months to run on his current deal and will leave for free in June should he fail to sign a new contract.

After links of a possible switch to Manchester United, the latest rumours are that the German could still pen a new deal at the Emirates.

And while speaking to Sky Sports, Ozil claimed he has improved during his time in north London.

“This club has made me bigger. I’m so proud to play for a big club like Arsenal.”

Arsene Wenger says the club have received no offers for the German or Alexis Sanchez and the Gunners boss is still hopeful Ozil will sign a new deal.

“I believe he wants to stay, he is not to be convinced [to sign a new contract],” said Wenger.

“You want nobody to leave and you see where we stand on that. But at the moment, it’s very difficult.
