Mesut Ozil has broken his silence after agreeing a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
The Germany international who’s won three FA Cups during his time in north London has penned a three-and-a-half year extension and will pocket £350,000-a-week – a new club record.
Ozil has been in excellent form for the Gunners in recent weeks taking his tally for the season to four goals and seven assists.
The playmaker reportedly turned down interest from Manchester United and Barcelona to remain at the Emirates. He took to Twitter on Thursday to share his delight in continuing his time with Arsenal.

He said:: “Proud to announce: I signed dat thing….three more years with Arsenal!
“It’s been one of the most important decisions of my footballing career and that’s why I had to think hard and talk with everyone who’s important to me…good things take time!
Ozil will be tasked with finding synergy with new teammates Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The pair will need to hit the ground running if Arsenal are to climb back into the top four this season. The Gunners are currently eight points behind 4th place Chelsea.
