We recently reported that Mesut Ozil could make a dramatic u-turn on his decision to leave Arsenal. And now his agent has also hinted that the Germany international could remain in North London.

Ozil has entered the final year of his Arsenal contract and will be able to walk for free come the end of the season.

Arsenal and his advisors had not held contract negotiations since March after the Gunners failed to agree to Ozil’s £330,000-per-week wage demands.

Now his agent, Erkut Sogut has suggested talks with Arsenal are progressing.

He told Fanatik: ‘He wants to play in Premier League for at least 2-3 years. Our contacts with Arsenal continue and we are going in the positive direction.’

The German has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with boss Jose Mourinho keen on reuniting with his former Real Madrid ace.

If Ozil does commit and Arsenal have a successful season, it may also see Alexis Sanchez reconsider his decision to quit the club.
