Ray Parlour has said that Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill would be the perfect signing for former club Arsenal.
The Gunners are under pressure to strengthen the spine of their squad, especially a defence which has shipped far too many goals for a side hoping to win the Premiership.
Parlour said: “I’ve always said Gary Cahill would be a perfect signing for Arsenal.
“It depends on how much money he is though. Arsène Wenger’s always been of the policy that he can get a similar sort of player, who does a similar sort of job, for £5million cheaper.
“So it’s going to be interesting.”
