Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech says the club are finding it difficult to perform in the Premier League due to Europa League success.
The Gunners succumbed to their fifth away defeat in a row and 11th in the Premier League losing 2-1 at Newcastle on Sunday.
Arsene Wenger’s side have gone along smoothly in the Europa League however. They’re currently preparing for a semi-final clash with Atletico Madrid and Cech claims the competition is causing issues for their domestic form.
“We are in a position now where we must win all our remaining games and hope it lifts us in the table.
“We are in a very difficult moment because everybody else has a big advantage.
“In the Europa League, we have a semi-final to play, so we need to make sure we are ready.
“It’s not the first time we were 1-0 up away and we didn’t get anything in the game.”
Fortunately for Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette was able to keep up his goalscoring run in the defeat at Newcastle. With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ineligible, Arsenal are relying on their top the Frenchman to fire them to victory against Atletico.
