Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech could be sidelined for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Cech hobbled at before half-time during the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Watford. Saturday’s tie saw Bernd Leno make his first Premier League appearance, having featured in the Europa League and the League Cup so far.

The German shot-stopper is likely to continue between the sticks until the international break.

His coach, Unai Emery explained Cech’s injury and backed Leno: ‘Tomorrow I will know more. Maybe it’s two or three weeks, it’s muscular [hamstring],’ said Emery.

In regards to Leno, he added: ‘He is working very well with the goalkeeping coaches.

Leno kept a clean sheet in his first Premier League appearance

‘I spoke with him and said the most important thing is when the team needs him to help us, to be prepared.

‘He did that on Wednesday and today also – and against Vorskla.

‘We have three very good goalkeepers. Petr Cech, his performances for us have been very important and his experience. Leno can learn by staying near with Petr Cech every day.

‘I am very happy with him. He has waited for his moment and it’s arriving.’

Gooners, Leno or Cech? Who would you rather see keep between the sticks? Let us know in the comments…
