Arsenal have failed to win the Premier League for 14 years because to Arsene Wenger sometimes ‘the Arsenal way was more important than getting the points’.

That’s the opinion of Gunners shot-stopper and four-time Premier League winner Petr Cech.

The Gunners have not won the title since 2004. Cech has likened Arsenal’s wait for a title to Tiger Woods’ long quest for another golf Major.

Woods won a tournament for the first time in five years on Sunday evening when he captured the PGA Championship.

Speaking after a blinding performance against Everton, Cech claimed Arsenal had forgotten how to win the Premier League.

“I would say the Arsenal way was more important than getting the points sometimes and this is not sometimes how you win the league,” said Cech, 36, who won four titles at Chelsea before joining the Gunners in 2015 (via the Star).

“Sometimes you need to make sure you win an ugly game, when you are not playing completely well.

“You just dig deep, close the back door and win 1-0 no matter how. I think this is what we lacked since I arrived, over the last three years.

“Against Everton, despite going through difficult moments in the game, we managed to get the win with the clean sheet, so this is very positive.”

Gooners, is Cech right? Let us know in the comments…
