Ruud van Nistelrooy could be out of Manchester United’s FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal on Saturday because of a knee injury, which was reportedly discovered when he reported for tonight’s Euro 2004 warm-up against France.
He has missed both training sessions with the Holland squad to have intensive treatment and it is feared that he could be forced to fly back to England today.
The absence of van Nistelrooy from Saturday’s semi-final would be a massive blow to Manchester United’s last hope of picking up silverware this season. Louis Saha is cup-tied for the clash, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is not yet match-fit and Diego Forlan might be tired out or missing after internationals.
However, as reported earlier, Arsenal star striker and top goal scorer might be rested for this match, along with other key players for the upcoming Champions League home match against Chelsea.
It will be interesting if Ruud is suddenly match fit for the match though.
