Potential injury boost for Arsenal ahead of Everton tie

Arsenal are aiming to reach the semi-finals for the second successive season

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka appears to be touch and go for Sunday’s clash with Everton.

The Swiss told his Instagram followers that he’s “working hard to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.’

The Switzerland international missed Monday’s 2-0 win against Newcastle after sustaining a ‘small’ strain in training the previous Friday.

‘We started Friday with not good news with Xhaka, he has a small injury and could not play today,’ Emery said after the win at the Emirates.

The Gunners go head-to-head with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday as they look to consolidate their place in the top four.

Emery’s side have dropped back to fourth following Tottenham’s home debut win over Crystal Palace.

Arsenal do have a game in hand (Wolves away) over Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United, but the top four battle is reaching boiling point.

Gooners, does Xhaka start if fit on Sunday? Let us know in the comments…
