Arsenal and fellow Premier League clubs have been warned that they could have as little as two weeks between the end of this season and the start of next, The Sun reports.

The season has been suspended indefinitely after the country went into lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis.

Next season had been due to kick-off in the middle of August, but with the coronavirus becoming more prevalent, it’s increasingly uncertain how long the pandemic will last.

The 20 Premier League clubs held a video conference on Friday as they try to find a way to complete the current season.

Mikel Arteta could have just two weeks to prepare his Arsenal side for 2020/21

Some clubs still have 10 league games to play, while there are also domestic and European cup competitions to be finished.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reversed their decision to place their staff under temporary leave.

The Premier League leaders have apologised for the decision to take up the Government grant of using tax-payer funds to pay their staff.

But in a letter to their fans, chief executive Peter Moore said: “We believe we came to the wrong conclusion last week and are truly sorry for that.”

He added that the Reds have “opted to find alternative means” to pay staff.
