Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea have made Gunners ace Alexis Sanchez their priority transfer for the summer window, according to The Guardian.

The Chilean ace’s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain as the two-time Copa America winner rapidly approaches the final 12 months of his deal, with little to suggest an extension will be penned and Arsenal’s on-field form not helping matters.

28-year-old Alexis is widely expected to move on in the summer, with clubs from France, Italy and Germany raising an interest, but Chelsea boss Antonio Conte intends to keep the former Barcelona and Udinese man in the Premier League.

Arsenal, understandably, do not want to sell to a rival but may find themselves backed into a corner if Alexis pushes for an exit and refuses to renew, as that would see the Gunners face the possibility of losing him on a free next summer and missing out on a major transfer windfall.

However, Alexis and Arsenal themselves would earn major backlash from supporters if a move across London were to go ahead.
