Arsenal face a battle to keep Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Emirates Stadium as the England international has entered the final 12 months of his contract- and Premier League sides are eyeing a move.

The Daily Express states Premier League champions Chelsea are ready to step up their interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain this week, although Antonio Conte’s side will face fierce competition in the market from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly wants first-team assurances before he renews with Arsenal, with an offer worth £100k-a-week said to be on the table, and it’s claimed he told Arsene Wenger last week he won’t sign a new deal.

With the future of Alexis Sanchez also up in the air, Arsenal face a difficult time in the weeks ahead and both Chelsea and Manchester City will test the water with formal advances in the coming days, as they’ll try to convince Arsenal to a sale.

Losing Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a bitter blow for the Gunners due to the amount of support that has been given to the former Southampton man through numerous injury struggles but Arsenal won’t have any choice but to sell.
