Arsenal are looking towards building a Premier League winning side next season but Arsene Wenger is under pressure to keep his key-players at the club.

Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all face uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium as they’ve entered the final 12 months of their contracts and the trio could leave, despite Arsenal’s desperation to keep them.

The Daily Express reports Liverpool are readying a last-ditch attempt to try and lure Oxlade-Chamberlain to Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp prepared to offer the Gunners £40m for the England international- who opened the scoring in the Three Lions’ 2-2 draw with Scotland on Saturday.

Arsenal are reportedly set to hand Oxlade-Chamberlain a lucrative £100k-a-week contract to secure his future at the club, with the former Southampton man excelling at wing-back during the latter stages of last season, but Liverpool could offer him the chance of playing in his preferred central midfield role.

Those opportunities seem unlikely at Arsenal as the Gunners boast the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla and Mohamed Elneny, which suggests Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future in North London lies out wide.

An opportunity of playing in his favoured position at Liverpool could prove to be decisive in the Reds’ attempts to land Oxlade-Chamberlain, although the player seems happy in his current surroundings.
