Arsenal could see notable departures leave the Emirates Stadium in the coming weeks and Premier League rivals are attempting to take advantage.

ESPN reports that fellow London outfit Crystal Palace are set to return with a second-bid for England international Calum Chambers, after seeing an initial offer worth £16m rejected by the Gunners.

Chambers spent last season on-loan with relegated Middlesbrough and his spot within Arsenal’s squad looks uncertain, with the arrival of Rob Holding from Bolton last summer handing Chambers added competition for a central defensive role within the side.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Hector Bellerin have also both impressed on the right, a position where Chambers is also useful, and Arsenal are ready to accept a departure this summer- although they’re likely to include a buy-back clause in any deal.

Palace’s next offer is believed to be worth around £18m, still short of Arsenal’s £20m valuation, but additional bonuses could make the offer pleasing to Arsene Wenger.
