Ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League tie at the Emirates Stadium versus Burnley, which will be refereed by Michael Oliver, I spoke to one of their supporters. Thank you to Peter for answering the questions!

How long have you supported Burnley?

Since I was born but been attending games for 62 years.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

Hopes were reasonably high following last season and with the signings that we made over the summer but with injuries, lack of a consistent starting 11 etc and the results in our first 11 games, will be happy to finish 17th!

What are your views on your manager?

I certainly thought he was good last season but with our very poor start, he is starting to get criticism, as he’s saying that he won’t change his style of play. Time will tell.

Style of play and tactics – direct/passing/hybrid?

We’re trying to play from the back as we did very successfully last season but we’re now playing against better players and individual mistakes are starting to creep in and we’re conceding too many goals.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

Amdouni, Koleosho, and Beyer.

Random fact about your Club?

We’re the 1st Premier League team to have lost their 1st 6 home games in a season!!

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Burnley?

Favourite – Because they’re our local rivals, winning the Championship last season at Ewood Park (home of Blackburn Rovers).

My least favourite – any when we lose to Blackburn Rovers!

Which sides do you think will finish in the top four and which do you think will finish in the bottom three?

Top – Man City  Arsenal, Spurs and Brighton.

Bottom – Bournemouth, Luton and Sheff Utd (fingers crossed!)

What are your thoughts on Arsenal?

They’ve developed into a very good team, with some class players and they’re good on the eye. Possibly lack a little consistency at the minute to fully challenge Man City.

If you could steal one Arsenal player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Saka. I like the lad and enjoy watching him play. Would walk straight into our team!

What is your prediction for this match?

Unfortunately, a win for Arsenal but stranger things have happened (although I can’t think of many).
