Ahead of tonight’s match versus Nottingham Forest at The City Ground in the Premier League, which will be refereed by Simon Hooper, we have done a Q&A with one of their supporters. Thank you to Adam for answering the questions!

How long have you supported Nottingham Forest?

My first game was in 1981 – so over 40 years.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2023/24 season?

We want to kick on and improve on last season, but with the club being in breach of the Profit and sustainability rules – expectations have somewhat changed and although the punishment has yet to be issued, the club needs to make sure that they stay in the Premier League. We need to look at trimming the squad and getting a settled team.

What are your views on your manager?

Nuno is an experienced Premier League manager and a solid appointment. Steve Cooper will always have a place in Forest fans’ hearts following his outstanding achievements in restoring us to the top flight, but performances and results were coming up short. There was no room for sentiment, and the change needed to happen.

Nuno managed to get solid results against Newcastle and Manchester United to start his tenure, which quietened the doubters. Nuno is the manager who I feel will establish Forest as a mid-table team that is hard to beat – that is undoubtedly what Forest fans are looking for.

Style of play and tactics – direct/passing/hybrid?

Nuno’s style is playing on the counter and we have not been short of scoring goals, but giving away sloppy goals.

One(s) to watch now and in the future?

Morgan Gibbs-White is our leading man; if he is in form, things can happen. Murillo is an exciting young prospect that we signed from Corinthians in Brazil, he is raw but a fan favourite and I am sure will be capped by his country. We expect interest from bigger teams.

Random fact about your Club?

The reason Arsenal wear red is because of Nottingham Forest.

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Nottingham Forest?

We have had some great games over the years, but the 1-0 play-off victory at Wembley against Huddersfield was the most memorable and the best atmosphere although not a good game of football. The worst and lowest point was losing the League One Play-Off semi-final 2nd Leg to Yeovil in 2007; it was so bad. I am not going to type anymore; you can google it!

Which sides will you finish in the top four, and which will finish in the bottom three?

Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Everton, Burnley and Sheffield United.

What are your thoughts on Arsenal?

Arsenal are an entertaining side to watch; they need a proven goal scorer, and they won’t be far away from winning trophies.

If you could steal one Arsenal player for your team, who would it be and why?

I would say Declan Rice – a born leader and would be incredible in our midfield.

What is your prediction for this match?

We have had the upper hand over Arsenal in recent meetings at the City Ground, and I hope it continues. There will be a great atmosphere under the lights, and I am going for a 1-0 win for Forest.
