Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has given his verdict on reported target Marouane Fellaini.
The Manchester United midfielder has been tipped for a move to the Emirates.
With his current deal expiring at the end of this month, he now looks certain to end his five-year association with the Old Trafford club.
United boss Jose Mourinho had been hopeful of persuading the former Everton midfielder to stay but after rejecting United’s latest offer of £140,000-a-week, Fellaini now looks certain to seek a fresh challenge and a lucrative pay day.
And Parlour, who won three Premier League titles at Highbury, believes Fellaini physicality would make him a success at the Emirates.
He told Sky Sports (via the Star): ‘I never really know what his best position is. He’s played as an attacking midfielder and then a holding midfielder.
‘When you look at a free transfer he’s something different. Even if he didn’t start you could bring him off the bench.
‘If you’re chasing a goal you might need to play a different style of football go a little bit more direct up to the front and he’s perfect for that.
‘Certainly he’s a player where you can change the system of play. You’d say that’s a decent signing.’
