David Luiz scored his first goal for Arsenal as the Gunners moved into third in the Premier League.
The 1-0 win against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth leaves the north Londoners just a point behind champions Manchester City.
Unai Emery saw his side take an early lead, as David Luiz headed Nicolas Pepe’s corner into the net, and fans will have been sensing real opportunities to go and score a few.
However, the Cherries remained firmly in the game, producing 10 shots on goal – the same as Arsenal.
There were impressive performances from Bukayo Saka and Calum Chambers.
Once again Mesut Ozil couldn’t make Emery’s match day squad. The German who was omitted from Arsenal’s matchday squad for the 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Monday evening was also left out of the team as the Gunners beat Standard Liege 4-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Sheffield United after the international break.
