Mikel Arteta is up and running as Arsenal manager after the Gunners ended their winless run with a 2-0 victory over Manchester United.

Goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papastathopolous saw Arsenal achieve their first win at the Emirates since October 6.

Despite last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, Arteta’s appointment has seen the Gunners produce far stronger performances.

The aggressive, forward thinking philosophy the Spaniard has installed is already paying off and Ole Gunnar Solskjaar’s side could barely keep up in a dominating first-half by Arsenal.

Pepe first sent the Emirates crowd into jubilation when he turned in Sead Kolasinac’s cut-back for just his third Premier League goal.

The winger and Lucas Torreira went close moments later, before Sokratis’ close range volley doubled Arsenal’s lead a few minutes before half-time.

Solsjkaar made tactical changes for the second half and his team got a foothold in the match as Arsenal’s players began to tire.

However, the Gunners, buoyed by the Emirates crowd, held on to register their first win in six and move into the top half of the Premier League.
