Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed a 2-o win over Southampton to help move Arsenal back into the top four after.

Lacazette broke the deadlock after just 6 minutes played. The Frenchman chalked up his 13th of the season by reacting quickest to turn in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s shot.

And Unai Emery’s side doubled their lead shortly after when Mkhitaryan drilled a shot into the bottom corner.

Despite impressing against BATE Borisov in the week, Mesut Ozil was back on the bench. The German did enter the field of play, replacing the departing Aaron Ramsey after 63 minutes. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also arrived, but the Gabon striker was unable to add to his 18 goals for the season

Southampton offered a stronger resistance after the break, but were unable to make headway as Arsenal kept their second successive clean sheet.

The Saints remain in the bottom three with just 11 games to go.
