Alexandre Lacazette rescued a point for Arsenal, but the pressure on Unai Emery continues to mount following a disappointing draw with Southampton.

Unai Emery is under severe pressure

The Gunners lost more ground on the top four after being held to a draw at home with the relegation fighters.

An international break made little difference to Arsenal’s form. Emery’s side, who were second best throughout, were booed off at the final whistle after delivering a disjointed performance.

The visitors took advantage of the lack of confidence around The Emriates with Danny Ings’ early goal putting the Saints in front.

Lacazette was on hand to bring Arsenal level by turning the ball in from close range.

However, new boy Kieran Tierney conceded a penalty with 15 minutes to go, which was eventually converted on the rebound by James Ward-Prowse.

Despite totting up a shocking 21 shots at goal, Southampton failed to take victory. Lacazzette snatched a last gasp goal to resceue a point for the Gunners, and potentially saving Emery from the sack for another week.

Gooners, were there any positives from this one?
