10-man Arsenal twice came from behind to draw with Chelsea in a dramatic game at Stamford Bridge.

When ex-Chelsea star David Luiz was shown a straight red for his challenge on Jorginho that resulted in the midfielder converting a penalty, Arsenal fans would have been forgiven for recalling the 6-0 drubbing the Blues handed them in March 2014.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side showed they have turned a corner since his arrival.

Youngster Gabrielle Martinelli ran from his own box to find the back of the net – a sublime goal from the 18 year-old who continues to steal the hearts of all Arsenal fans.

The Blues retook the lead late on through Cesar Azpilicueta, but Hector Bellerin – who had gone two years without a goal – saw his 87th minute left foot strike find the bottom corner and earn the Gunners a point.

The result leaves Arsenal 10th in the Premier League, 10 points adrift of Frank Lampard’s side in 4th.

Arsenal’s Champions League chase still looks bleak, but with the resilience shown on Tuesday the future under Arteta certainly does not.

Next up for the Gunners is a fourth round FA Cup tie at Bournemouth on Monday 27 January.
