Arsenal are not planning to sack Unai Emery in the middle of the season despite another defeat on the road

The Gunners went down 2-0 to top four rivals Leicester on Saturday and are now nine points off a Champions League spot.

The 2015-16 champions had looked set to be frustrated as they missed several chances in the first half before Wilfred Ndidi struck the bar early in the second period.

However, Jamie Vardy and James Maddison grabbed the goals for the Foxes who are in a pole position to return to European football’s biggest competition.

Emery has come under huge pressure from the fans, who have started to turn on the Spaniard in the masses.

The loss to Leicester on Saturday meant it was just one win out of seven – including draws to Vitoria Guimaraes, Crystal Palace and Wolves – as well as a defeat to Sheffield United.

Arsenal are at home to Southampton following the international break.
