Dani Ceballos says he was right to swap Real Madrid for The Emirates and is ‘very happy’ in north London.
The Spaniard is currently enjoying a season’s-long-loan spell at Arsenal.
Ceballos left sunny Spain after failing to cement himself as a regular in the Real team.
The 23-year-old Spanish midfielder was kept in the shadows following his move from Real Betis two years ago and was happy to seek pastures new in the summer.
Since moving to north London, his performances have won him plenty of admirers and earned him a call-up to the current senior Spanish squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Sweden.
And Ceballos says he has no regrets over linking up to join Unai Emery’s project.
‘Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career,’ he said.
‘I don’t feel sorry for not being in Madrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy. My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football.
‘In the previous two years I had not done so.
‘My goal is only to work to keep doing things right.
‘I have eight months left at Arsenal, I can only thank them for the confidence that the coach and fans have placed in me, who have already made me a song. I am very happy there and I hope to continue for a long time’
