Report: AC Milan plan to scupper Arsenal’s summer move for Porto star

AC Milan have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.

The 28-year-old is currently in his sixth season with the Portuguese giants, but the Mexico international has just six months remaining on his contract.

And according to Tuttomercatoweb, that has resulted in widespread interest in the player with Arsenal and also Wolves monitoring the situation.

The Gunners could speak to him over signing a pre-contract agreement in January, if they wanted to.

Herrera is having another solid season in Portugal. The no nonsense midfielder keeps things ticking, produces multiple turnovers in tackling and aerial duels and is no slouch without the ball.

The Gunners have also been linked with a transfer moves for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Roma hotshot Cergis Under.

No doubt Herrera’s a good player, but should he be at the top of Emery’s priority list? Gooners, let us know in the comments…
