According to reports in Italy, Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini is up for grabs this summer and both Arsenal and Tottenham are bidding to land his signature.

Despite the 22 year-old central midfielder being tied down to a contract that expires in 2022, he has a very attractive €30m release clause which is reportedly payable in two instalments, meaning only €15m would be paid this summer.

With Arsenal on the lookout for a central midfielder following the departure of Aaron Ramsey and on a restricted budget until they can get back into the Champions League, it’s no surprise they’re being linked with Pellegrini.

The Roma star featured in 25 Serie A matches last season, scoring two and providing three assists.

Calciomercato claim Pellegrini’s agent Nicolo Schira is in London, and they add that the midfielder would be willing to join Arsenal even without the lure of Champions League football.
