Fresh reports suggest Sporting Lisbon ace Gelson Martins wants to terminate his current contract with the Portuguese club, opening the door for Arsenal to snap him up for free this summer.

According to reports, Arsenal have had a €30 million (£26m) bid rejected for the winger.

Previous reports suggested that it would take an offer of £52.7 million, in order to make a deal happen.

However, Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web now claim that the Portugal international is desperate to terminate his contract with Sporting, and that could be great news for Arsenal, considering the fact that they reportedly have just £50 million to spend this summer.

Martins impressed for Sporting last term. The winger scored eight and assisted eight as Sporting finished 3rd in the Primeira Liga.

Arsenal are expected to be very frugal this summer, and what better way to start than by signing a potentially world class star for nothing.
