Arsenal have resumed their interest in Thomas Lemar and according to reports, the Gunners are leading the chase.

The Frenchman was subject of a club -record bid from the Gunners in 2017 whilst playing for Monaco.

Arsenal failed in their attempts and Lemar joined Atletico a year later in a £60m deal. However, the 24 year-old but struggled to live up to expectations since moving to the Spanish capital.

Reports claim several Premier League teams are interested in the 24-year-old, with Wolves and Tottenham also reportedly keeping tabs on the winger.

However, according to Spanish publication Marca, Arsenal at the front of the queue for his signature.

Atletico are happy to cut their losses on the forward who is yet to produce a goal or assist in 15 appearances this season.

Goal reckon the Spanish side are even willing to allow Lemar to leave on a loan deal this month, as long as it includes an option to buy him permanently for at least £34m (€40m).
