Arsenal have revived their interest in former Premier League midfielder Steven N’zonzi, reports say.

The France international had been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates last summer before electing to sign for Roma.

N’zonzi has had no shortage of time on the pitch, with the Frenchman racking up 28 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions.

However, despite being a regular since arriving in Italy, Calciomercato (via Sports Mole) claim that Roma would be prepared to sell the 2018 World Cup winner for the right price in this summer’s transfer window.

N’zonzi as well as an experienced centre-half could help provide the strength and defensive support that Arsenal have been crying out for. The Gunners brought in Lucas Torreira in 2018, and despite impressing the diminutive Uruguayan has struggled to plug Arsenal’s leaky defence.

The report also says the north Londoners will likely face competition from rivals Tottenham should Unai Emery’s side decide to pursue N’zonzi.
